STATE OF CALIFORNIA—BUSINESS AND TRANS TION AGENCY EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor
DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROLY;y
2424 Whipple Road
Hayward, CA 94544
(415) 489-1500
February 10, 1983
Chief Joseph B. Hill
Pleasanton Fire Department
4444 Railroad Avenue
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Dear Chief Hill:
The enclosed Inter-Agency Agreement has been developed to provide
for the clarification of roles at a hazardous material spill
occurring on highways within the jurisdiction of the California
Highway Patrol. I 'm sure you will agree it is essential for all
of us to be aware of the resources and mission of involved allied
agencies. This agreement is intended to provide an inventory of
those resources and mission statements.
Please review this proposal to see if we have a correct perception
of your role. If it is compatible with your agency' s policy,
your support will be appreciated.
It is my understanding that the Alameda County Hazardous Spill
Committee is also formulating an Inter-Agency agreement. It has
been delayed pending the completion of the State Office of
Emergency Services ' Toxic Disaster Contingency Plan, which the
committee intends to use as a model. I will continue to support
the committee 's efforts to develop an Emergency Incident Response
Plan and feel that our proposal is compatible with it.
Sergeant Frank Combs, Hayward Area Hazardous Material Coordinator,
will be contacting you in the near future, seeking your signature
on the master copy of the agreement. After all signatures have
been obtained, each signatory will be provided with a copy.
Sergeant Combs will be happy to answer any questions you have
about the agreement.
Very t my yours,
- -
C. E . KIDDER, Captain
Commander
Hayward Area
Enclosure
