Attachment 1 <br />ORDINANCE ________ <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2279 TO AMEND THE <br />PLEASANTON POLICE DEPARTMENT’S MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE <br />POLICY TO ADD EQUIPMENT TO THE POLICY’S MILITARY <br />EQUIPMENT INVENTORY <br />WHEREAS, On July 19, 2022, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2238 <br />approving the Pleasanton Police Department’s Military Equipment Use Policy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Military Equipment Use Policy was amended on October 18, <br />2022 by Ordinance No. 2240 to add a Command Vehicle to the Policy’s military <br />equipment inventory; and <br />WHEREAS, the Military Equipment Use Policy was amended on April 18, 2023 <br />by Ordinance No. 2246 to add additional equipment to the Policy’s military equipment <br />inventory; and <br />WHEREAS, the Military Equipment Use Policy was amended on April 16, 2024 <br />by Ordinance No. 2279 to add additional equipment to the Policy’s military equipment <br />inventory; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the Military Equipment Use Policy <br />to add additional equipment to the Policy’s military equipment inventory. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Amendment. Ordinance No. 2279 is amended to add the equipment <br />described in Exhibit “A” to the Military Equipment Use Policy’s military equipment <br />inventory. <br />Section 2. Severability. If any part of this ordinance is declared invalid by a <br />court, such invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining parts. <br />Section 3. Publication. This ordinance, or a summary prepared by the City <br />Attorney, shall be published once in a newspaper of general circulation of the City of <br />Pleasanton within fifteen days after its adoption. <br />Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its <br />adoption. <br />Page 77 of 249
