This agreement will align the background investigator contracts, so they <br />end on the same date. In FY 2023/24, the Police <br />Department entered into agreements with four background investigators. <br /> <br />In 2025, a change in state law (Business and Professions Code Section 7524) required all background <br />investigator agreements to include specific statutory language. At that time, the other three background <br />investigators extended their agreement through FY 2027/28, however DEX’s was off cycle due to starting <br />later. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br />Funding for Professional Services Agreements will be funded by the Human Resources operating budget <br />(00118000-435131). <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D2214ECC-C8B2-832D-8387-2DF96D6B665F
