One option included fees for both residents and non-residents. The other included fees only for non-residents. Both options allowed residents to book a reservation seven days in advance, and non-residents five days in advance. Both included reservations for only three of the six Muirwood pickleball courts, with the other three remaining free and first-come, first-served. DISCUSSION BOARD/COMMITTEE/COMMISSION ACTION At their August 13, 2026 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously recommended implementing a reservation system for three of the six pickleball courts at Muirwood Community Park, with a fee for residents at $6.00 and non-residents at $7.50 per hour.* *Note, the fee approval for the pickleball courts is included in Agenda Item #8. This item reflects only the reservation process. Reservation Process: • Residents can reserve seven days in advance • Non-residents can reserve five days in advance • Reservations are non-refundable • Reservations can be made via a computer, a mobile device, or by calling the recreation office • Each account can reserve one court for one hour per day • Standard pickleball court rules would continue to apply, including players self- regulating and adhering to the reservation system. Available Reservation Slots: • Three courts at Muirwood would move into a reservation system, and three would remain available for free play on a first-come, first-served basis. Staff anticipate approximately 700 reserved spots per month, averaging for seasonal daylight changes. Page 87 of 318
