Participants
included members of the BPTC and school district. They walked
selected routes with City staff and the project team while dis-
cussing issues such as crossing safety, sidewalk conditions,
accessibility, visibility, traffic speeds, and overall pedestrian and
bicyclist comfort.
ONLINE SURVEYS
Two online surveys were conducted during the planning pro-
cess. The first survey gathered information about existing travel
behavior, barriers to walking and bicycling, safety concerns, and
desired improvements. It received 131 responses. The second
survey sought feedback on draft recommendations and priorities
for future investments. It received 46 responses.
The online format allowed community members to participate at
their convenience and significantly expanded the overall reach of
the engagement effort.
INTERACTIVE MAPPING TOOL
An interactive online mapping tool allowed participants to iden-
tify specific locations where they experienced challenges or
opportunities for improvement. Community members placed
map pins to identify difficult crossings, missing bicycle facilities,
uncomfortable walking conditions, desired connections, and
other location-specific issues. A total of 184 pins were placed on
the interactive map.
The mapping tool complemented the survey results by providing
detailed geographic information that helped validate technical
findings and refine recommended improvements.
= Biking Issues
= Crossing Issues
= Pedestrian Issues
BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN, AND TRAILS COMMITTEE (BPTC)
The BPTC provided guidance throughout the planning process
and ensured the plan reflected local knowledge and community
priorities.
Committee input helped refine the Vision Network, Focus Net-
work, recommended improvements, and implementation ap-
proach prior to preparation of the final Plan.
