I-580 OVERCROSSINGS
The Hopyard Road, Hacienda Drive, and Santa Rita Road
overcrossings provide critical bicycle and pedestrian
connections between Pleasanton and Dublin, linking residents
to regional destinations, employment centers, shopping, and
the Dublin–Pleasanton BART Station. Because I-580 forms the
northern boundary between the two cities, these crossings are
essential for supporting safe and convenient regional travel by
active transportation.
The City is currently advancing a separate project to improve
bicycle and pedestrian conditions on these overcrossings. This
project was identified in the 2018 Plan. Because the project is
currently in progress, it is not included as a separate project in
this Plan and is assumed to be completed.
I-580 and Hacienda Drive Overpass
Key Network Considerations
INTERSECTIONS
This Plan identifies corridor-level bicycle improvements and
does not prescribe intersection treatments at individual
locations. Appropriate intersection designs should be evaluated
during project development based on the selected bikeway
type, traffic operations, available right-of-way, and site-
specific conditions. The Treatment Toolkit provides guidance
on intersection treatments for various bicycle facility types,
considering factors such as vehicle volumes, intersection
configuration, and lane configuration.
Intersection of Stanley Blvd and Valley Ave
Recommended Bicycle Improvements
The recommended bicycle improvements on the Focus Network are shown on Figure 12 and summarized in Table 3.
