provided by VOP to City staff liason prior to the event and liason will have the <br />discretion to assign City staff. <br />3. Special Event Permit and Insurance. VOP acknowledges that it shall obtain from the <br />Pleasanton Police Department a special event permit for the Veterans Day Parade, notwithstanding <br />that the fee for the permit has been waived as provided in Section 2.b., above. VOP further <br />acknowledges that it must obtain the insurance required by the Pleasanton Police Department for <br />the VOP's parade as required of all special events permits involving street closures, and submit <br />proof of such insurance with its special event permit application. <br />4. Indemnify and Hold Harmless. The VOP shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless, the <br />City and its elected officials, officers, employees, volunteers and agents from and against all claims, <br />losses, damage, injury and liability for damages arising from the activities of the VOP and its <br />Veterans Day Parade, except for those claims arising from the City's active negligence or <br />intentional misconduct. The parties agree that the VOP's liability under this provision is limited to <br />the insurance coverage that VOP shall provide as described in section 3. <br />5. Term. This MOU shall commence upon the date approved by the City Council of the City <br />of Pleasanton and shall run for a period of one year, and automatically renew every year thereafter, <br />unless terminated by either party by giving 90 days written notice to the other party. <br />6. Notices.
