Jim Wolfe

From: Georgia Cisneros [Georgia_Cisneros@cei.com]
Sent: Monday, April 11, 2005 8:25 AM
To: Jim Wolfe
Cc: terribleted@mail.com; hengehold@msn.com
Subject: Bernal Property

Importance: High

** High Priority **

Dear Jim,

I am unable to attend the Town Hall Meeting tonight but I wanted to let my thoughts be
known. I feel that it would be a mistake not to go forward with the additional lighted
sports fields at the Bernal Property.

My son has played PONY baseball for 4 years now and where we are going to play year in and
year eut always seems to he up in the air. Hatter of fact, just this past weekend my
son's team played another Pleasanton team in Livermore. He has never been able to
practice on a field, his teams have always had to scramble to find practice space. We
usually wind up on the blacktop or grass of an elementary school. The kids get
frustrated that there are not enough "real" baseball fields for them to play on. Many
other communities in the area put an emphasis on youth and do whatever it takes to make
sure that our youth know that they come first. Youth sports is a huge part of our
community. It was a part of all of our lives growing up and it nurtures a lot of positive
character traits like teamwork, discipline, responsibility, self-esteem and respect. If
we do not show the kids that the community cares about them by thinking of their needs
then how will that make them feel? We are trying to "Build a Community of Character,"
right? So let's keep in mind that our kids learn by our actions and we need te act like
we care.

Thank you for taking the time out to let me share my thoughts.

Sincerely,

Georgia Cisneros
{PONY Baseball Mom)
