The existing+approved traffic volumes were provided by
the City of Pleasanton in the associated Synchro traffic analysis software files. The
peak hour Levels of Service (LOS) were then calculated for the 28 study
intersections.

,.

2. The Existing+Approved+Project traffic conditions were then estimated for the Bernal
Commercial project. This involved estimating the project's trip generation and trip
distribution; adding the project's peak hour trips to the Existing+Approved peak hour
volumes; and calculating the peak hour LOS for the 28 key intersections.

...

3. The level of service results were then analyzed to determine if any mitigation
measures would be needed to maintain an acceptable peak hour LOS at the study
intersections for the Existing+Approved+Project analysis scenario. The acceptable
LOS is based on The City's standard, which is Level of Service D (some exemptions
exist). Traffic operational analyses were used to determine the need for mitigation
measures. Mitigation measures were then developed by the City of Pleasant on.

,

Existilrlg+ApplJ'Oved Traffic Volumes

Traffic data was obtained from the City of Pleasant on for the study intersections (Figure 1) of:

.,
i (I) Bernal & Case (Signalized)
"1 (2) Bernal & First/Sunol (Signalized)
J (3) Bernal & 1-680 SB (Stop)
l (4) Bernal & Kottinger (All-way Stop)
.~
l (5) Bernal & Main (Stop)
I
(6) Bernal & Valley (Signal)
1 (7) Bernal & Vineyard (N) (Signal)
.I
l (8) Bernal & Vineyard/Tawny (Signal)
j (9) First & Kottinger/Spring (Signal)
l (10) First & Neal (Signal)
J Traffic Analysis Page 3
Bernal Commercial Development, Pleasanton
