II OPEN SPACE PRESERVE

2.1 Landscape Character
22.5 acres of the 30.5 acre site will be dedicated as open space. Today the site is a beautiful
example of the native California oak woodland grassland that exists in the eastern and western
hillside city limits. This project seeks to preserve the native landscape. Much of the surrounding
hillside will be donated to the City of Pleasanton as open space to amend the neighboring Alviso
Adobe Park.

~~

" ... ... ....:.... ...,...\
, "'-::r., /.1 "
..... ....,"'1 !:"'":':'l
, ... ~, .
......"'.)) . Also important to
the site's history are the remnant walnut
orchards that were planted along Old
Foothill Road. These tie the site into the
history of Alviso Adobe Park and should
be preserved and enhanced. Trees in poor
condition and non-native exotics such as
Acacia, Eucalyptus, Prunus cerasifera and
Pinus canariensis should be removed as part 'f' J i
of a planned management of the open space \
by the City of Pleasanton.
