5.9 Fire Management
Fire management at the properties will be pursuant to the City of Pieasanton Fire Marshal.

5.10 Paving
Pervious paving at driveways, parking areas and walkways is encouraged to allow water
to infiltrate. Porous concrete, turf block pavers, Eco Stone pavers and gravel paving are
all examples of pervious paving. In addition, a hybrid scheme could be developed where
impervious paving is used on the driveway and pervious paving is laid in the parking stalls. If
an impervious paved driveway such as standard concrete is installed, a simple way to reduce
run-off would be to slope the drive towards an area of groundcover or turf for infiltration.
Slope of the paving and type of soil will determine what type of system is appropriate for each
site. All paving should be earthtoned. Red colored clay bricks, concrete pavers and paving are
discouraged.

ir:
'~?'
'ItI:~~
ft.t- \;~

Pervious Paving Types: Top left: Concrete turf bock pavers filied with aggregate; bottom left: Eco Stone
Pavers by Unigroup, voids filied with crushed stone to aliow infiltration; top right: Impervious asphalt
paving flows towards landscape area for infiltration; bottom right: pervious concrete paving in an
earthtone color.

MEADOWLARK PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT DESIGN GUIDELINES
Pleasanton, California

DRAFT May 2006
p.16
