After meeting with some of the opposing
neighbors and the applicants, it is more productive to have this item 11eard by the Planning Commission, Just to
ctarify the status of this application, the City has not taken action [approved or denied] at this time. The Planning
Commission will take action on this item at the public hearing.

A staff report is prepared by staff and delivered to the Planning Commissioners prior to the date of the hearing in
order to provide them adequate time to review and consider the infomnation. The 24-hour window that was given
to you was to ensure that any correspondence would be received by the Commissioners prior to the hearing so
that they understand your concerns and stance on the project. Speakers will have 3 minutes to present their
concerns to the Commissioners at the hearing. As of this morning staff was informed that due to the observance
of a religious holiday, the April 12th meeting has been postponed to a date not yet determined. Given the
postponement of the hearing date you now have additional time to prepare and provide me with your comments.
I will be confirming the new hearing date with all of you via email once a new hearing date has been assigned.

The City does appreciate your efforts to work with the Zoning Administrator, but at this time the Zoning
Administrator has used her discretion to have this project heard by the Planning Commission. If a neighbor is not
able to attend the meeting, they can submit their comments regarding the project in writing. The Planning
Commission tends to review written comments in the same capacity as if the comments were being presented at
the hearing in person.

All meetings that Donna previously scheduied remain as agreed to. These meetings will help her to present the
project to the Planning Commission, as she is no longer the hearing body. As for consulting a land-use lawyer,
this is up to you as an individual or as a collective effort of the whole neighborhood. If and when a lawyer
is retained, please provide their contact information to staff so that we can appropriately address our future
correspondence(s).

I do once again thank you for your comments and should you have any other questions and/or comments, please
do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Natalie E.
