ELIZABETH SETON MISSION

925-484.5020

November 2, 2006

Planning Commission Members,

One ofthe major questions that has been raised by some concerns
parking on our St. Elizabeth Seton site. While we are completely convinced
that our new building will not add in any way to the crowding of the existing
parking lot, we do acknowledge that we have a concern there now, pre-
existing any new building.

Our parking is fully sufficient for all but one of our regular Sunday
services and will be fully sufficient when the new building is built as we do
not intend to have activities in the Activity Center and the Church at the
same time.

The time when problems arise in overcrowding of our parking lot,
though it seldom spills over into the neighborhood, is during the 6:30 p.m.
Mass on Sunday, our Youth Mass.

We understand the concern ofthe city and the neighbors about not
putting any further pressure on the parking lot at this time. To that end, we
have begun an agreement with the business park almost directly across the
street from our present parking lot entrance on Rheem Dr. The Business
Park directly across Rheem has declined to have us use their parking area
during the Sunday evening Mass, but the business park whose entrance is
some five yards further to the south, as agreed in principle to let us use their
lot on Sunday evenings between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. There are
over 70 parking spaces available in this complex. We have provided them
with liability insurance from our insurance carrier for that time and a letter
will be forthcoming from them shortly stating our agreement. I trust that
this letter will be available by the time of the November 8th hearing and we
will see that a copy of it is delivered to the city.

lRJif:rcrr::IVEO

"Jlj!
