Can your folks help?
Thanks.
ML
216/07
From: Elizabeth Giovanetti
Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2007 7:05 AM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Trinity Lutherna Church
As the conversations go on about the proposed extensions of the church, parking lot
etc., I seem to have three issues 1 can't quite reconcile with all the proceedings.
- My husband called the planning commission and asked about the current use permit
for the Church. After he received a copy of the permit at the city offices, he mentioned
that he did not think the permit was current as to its actual usage. Several times we
went out and counted cars and compared to permit. There were extreme disparities. He
was given the name of one of the people at the city offices whose responsibility is to
enforce these permits and eventually was told they don't really enforce them.
-Testimony at the planning commission meeting that approved expansion said no one
complained about the 1999 changes. Yet if memory serves me correctly the current
changes on the table were not part of the postcard that came to our homes
-Finally, it bothers me that no traffic study was done on the parking lot additions to the
Golden Road lot. It amazes me that no major accidents have occurred here yet but this
is a horrible traffic nightmare that involves small children several times a day. We
should be grateful that no incidents have happened, but should be proactive in
ensuring nothing does occur. As a preschool teacher, I understand the quick actions of
small children walking out to cars on a street that offers them no protection.
Please consider my concerns,
Elizabeth Giovanetti
1445 Harvest Road
Pleasanton
3/13/2007
