Page l of 1
Maria Hoey
Subject: FW: Home Depot on Stanley and Valley
From: Linda Pip ""
Sent: Monday, Fe ruary TZ, ~O(3~ jc~"''
To: Mary Lu Campbell
Subject: Home Depot on Stanley and Valley
Frequently I chuckle when the NIMBY attitudes of Pleasanton Residents rear thier ugly heads,
but to consider putting a Home Depot at the corner of Stanley and Valley is truly the height of
irresponsible long term planning for Pleasanton. Rarely are big box stores located this far from
a freeway and right in the heart of residential neighborhoods for obvious reasons...safety being
the biggest one. Locating a Home Depot at this already incredibly busy corner is simply asking
for trouble/accidents. The concern also involves the cross town traffic of both shoppers and
even more importantly delivery semis that will be coming down Valley, rumbling right past a
Middle School and very close to at least one elementary school. We have enough gridlock in
Pleasanton without adding this. Why in the world do we need another Home Depot this close
anyway? Let's be smart about keeping the long term vision in mind with respect to the growth
and future of Pleasanton and not just look at the dollar signs.
Linda Pipe
5122 Black Ave
API , 94566
f_inda Pipe
Independent Mary Kay C~irector
Falf in love with the best-selling brand!
