Already the intersections in this area are at unacceptable service levels and this project
will only add to the existing horrific traffic problems.
Please consider the quality of life issues for the residents of Pleasanton before approving this project and all other
projects that add to the City's growing traffic problems.
Remember the impact at Valley and Stanley Blvd during last summer's heat wave? Weekend traffic was grid
locked at this intersection for vehicles trying to get into Shadow Cliffs. Pleasanton Police finally had to allow
parking on Stanley Blvd to mitigate the mess. Home Depot at this location will make the Valley and Stanley Blvd
intersection a parking lot.
The Tri-Valley has enough existing big box home improvement stores in the area and another one is not needed
or necessary. In addition to the Pleasanton Home Depot on Johnson Drive; Dublin has Home Depot Expo, OSH
and a new Lowe's scheduled for East Dublin at Tassajara and Dublin Blvd., Livermore has a Lowe's at First St. A
Home Depot at Valley and Stanley will make four (4) big box home improvement stores within 13 miles. Why does
the community need another one? This location is terrible for a retail location that will increase traffic by 100
cars/hour on weekdays and 166/hour on weekends.
Please encourage Home Depot to remodel their existing location.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Richard A.
