racks are conditioned to be provided for each building to facilitate bicycle parking for this de-
velopment. The applicant concurs with this requirement.
Off Street Bicycle Lanes
At the work session, the Planning Commission directed staff to provide for safe bicycle routes
through the project.
"I'he proposed project provides a designated bike route on Stanley Boulevard and Bernal Avenue
within the road section along with the ability to ride on a ten-foot wide Stanley Boulevard
and an eight-foot wide -Bernal Avenue -separated sidewalk. The sidewalks adjoining Stanley
Boulevard and Bernal Avenue would be separated from the street curb by a five-foot wide plant-
ing strip. These designated bike routes will be in addition to the bike lanes to be provided in
these street rights-of-way.
Figure 10 is a section through Stanley Boulevard showing the street, separated sidewalk, and
building.
~• :.
• L/~~+•I
-,•I'
t..
•,
:;:
•
.
'
~
' ~
~ ~
~ y~ . .
I ~
I
~ -
- ~ t+.... ~~ r
.~,
__ ~. To maintain an ade-
quate landscape area for a bio- swale between the sidewalk and the parking spaces, staff recom-
mends deleting 15 parking spaces from the parking rows perpendicular to Bernal Avenue.
