<br />18.08.490 Sign:
<br />"Sign" means any lettering or symbol
<br />made of cloth, metal, paint, paper, wood or
<br />other material of any kind whatsoever
<br />placed for advertising, identification, or
<br />other purposes on the ground or on any
<br />bush, tree, rock, wall, post, fence, building,
<br />structure, vehicle, or on any place whatso-
<br />ever. The term "placed" shall include con-
<br />structing, erecting, posting, painting, print-
<br />ing, tacking, nailing, gluing, sticking, carv-
<br />ing, or otherwise fastening, affixing, or
<br />making visible in any manner whatsoever
<br />beyond the boundaries of a site. (Prior

<br />18.08.495 Sign Area:
<br />"Sign area" means the area of a sign
<br />shall be computed as the entire area within
<br />a single continuous rectilinear perimeter or
<br />not more than eight (8) straight lines en-
<br />closing the extreme limits of writing, rep-
<br />resentation, emblem, or design, together
<br />with any material or color forming an inte-
<br />gral part of the display or used to differen-
<br />tiate the sign from the background against
<br />which it is placed. Sign supports shall not
<br />be included in determining sign area unless
<br />they are an integral part of the display. The
<br />area of a sign or the total area of all signs
<br />on a site shall be the total area that would
<br />be visible, whether legible or not, to an off-
<br />site observer having an unobstructed view
<br />of the site from any single point within a
<br />horizontal distance of one hundred feet
<br />(100') from the site boundary at an eleva-
<br />tion not more than one hundred feet (100')
<br />above the site boundary. (Prior Code § 2-

<br />18.08.500 Sign, Subdivision:
<br />"Subdivision sign" means any sign lo-
<br />cated either on or off a subdivision tract
<br />which indicates the direction to or adver-
<br />tises the location, existence, or sale of a
<br />subdivision or any part thereof. (Prior
<br />Code § 2-5.28(c))
<br />18.08.505 Single Ownership:
<br />"Single ownership" means holding re-
<br />cord title, possession under a contract to
<br />purchase, or possession under a lease, by a
<br />person, firm, corporation or partnership,
<br />individually, jointly, in common, or in any
<br />other manner whereby the property is or
<br />will be under unitary or unified control.

<br />18.08.510 Site Area:
<br />"Site area" means the total horizontal
<br />area included within the property lines of a
<br />site, exclusive of the area of access corri-
<br />dors, streets, portions of the site within fu-
<br />ture street plan lines; provided, however,
<br />all lots in subdivisions with acute angles
<br />less than forty-five degrees (45°) formed
<br />by adjacent sides shall be discouraged by
<br />the Planning Commission at the time of
<br />tentative map approval. (Prior Code § 2-

<br />18.08.515 Site Or Lot:
<br />"Site" or "lot" means a parcel of land or
<br />a portion thereof, considered as a unit, de-
<br />voted to or intended for a use or occupied
