E. Erosion and Sedimentation Control

The City Inspector will check to see that erosion and
sedimentation control measures are installed according
to the plans and that existing storm facilities and
public rights-of-way are not subject to more erosion
and/or sedimentation as a result of the project, than
they were prior to the project.

In general, the City inspectors will check onsite
construction for compliance with the project Plans and
Specifications and appropriate Codes. The inspectors will
note construction procedures or activities which may be
endangering public improvements or property. However, it
is still the responsibility of the Contractor to construct
the project site in conformance with the plans and
specifications, applicable codes, and in a competent manner
so as to produce a quality finished product for the owner.

4. Encroachment Permits must be obtained by the Contractor
whenever so required by City Ordinance 341. In general
the permits must be obtained whenever:

A. Moving construction equipment to or from a site
using City streets or rights-of-way.

B. Performing any construction activity within the
public right-of-way.

C. Making any improvements within the public right-
of-way or to any public facilities.

Encroachment permits may be obtained from the Senior Public
Works Inspector or from the Engineering Department in City
Hall.

It is the responsibility of the Contractor to obtain and
keep current Encroachment Permits for any and all situations
related to the project requiring such permits.

27
