C-6
PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-2003-37
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF PLEASANTON
COMMUNITY CHURCH FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPROVAL,
AS FILED UNDER CASE PCUP-84
WHEREAS, Pleasanton Community Church has applied for conditional use permit.
approval to operate an after school daycare program in the church's
education building located at 4455 Stoneridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-I (Planned Unit Development -Industrial)
District; and
WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of August 27, 2003, the Planning
Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and
recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the requirements of
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with
the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the
district in which the site is located.
The subject site is zoned Planned Unit Development -Industrial (PUD-I),
where the development plan includes a common landscape area. The
proposed after school program would not alter in any way the existing
landscaping area. In addition, the operation of the after school program
would not interfere with surrounding businesses' ability to operate as all
related activities would be held inside the building. The anticipated
number of employees and school children will not generate any unusual
demands on the existing parking for the office complex or the surrounding
properties. Furthermore, the applicant will be required to mitigate any
nuisances that may occur as a result of the proposed after school program.
The proposed location of the conditional use and the conditions
under which it would be operated or maintained will not be
detrimental to the public health, safety, or welfare, or materially
injurious to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
