Steve Otto
From: Judy S ,
Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2008 4:50 PM
To: Steve Otto; Mary Lu Campbell
Subject: Busch property PUD-74
To all Planning Commissioners and all City Council members,
I'm surprised 10,000 and 5,500 sq ft lots are being used fora "senior" development....just a
chance for seniors
to get newer versions of what they already have. They'll buy them with the $900,000. profit
they'll get from their
$30,000. investments. You'll probably end up having us subsidize a lower end, for people
that didn't bother
planning for senior years. The middle-income probably won't be able to afford for
themselves, but they'll
subsidize the others. As wrong as it is, that is not the battle I'm fighting today.
The crime against all of Pleasanton is that I don't see anything about blocking Busch Rd.
with barriers
or cul de sacs. The issue seems to be omitted in the PUD. It mentions ' no significant effect"
which is not
true. I have been quite vocal 6-8 times to City Council, about the desperate need to keep that
traffic off Valley Ave.
Barriers are ubiquitous in Pleasanton. You even allowed that part of Busch houses would be
separated from
other Busch houses, giving Mohr- Martin their own "gated community" (which was suppose
to go to Stanley.
There will be protests if freeway traffic is provided a shortcut to already-full Valley.. I know
it will be
fully discussed during the election. Any person that would connect Valley to 580, is not fit for
any position
in this city, elected or appointed. Tarring and feathering and public shame would be more
appropriate.
It would be UNconscionable for any one of you to approve the freeway connection,
considering the
volume of traffic already on Valley Ave. It would be UNconscionable to trash the "'quality of
life "for
ALL Pleasantonians.
Judy Symcox
Pleasanton owner
