PUD-74 Environmental Checklist
burrowing owls be detected on the site or immediately adjacent lands (i.e., within 250
feet of the site boundary) during future breeding seasons (February 1 through August 31),
then aconstruction-free buffer of at least 250 feet shall be established azound all active
owl nests. The buffer areas shall be enclosed with temporary fencing, and construction
equipment and workers shall not enter the enclosed setback azeas. Buffers shall remain
in place for the duration of the breeding season or until young are independent. After the
breeding season, an eviction process for any remaining owls may take place as described
above. These requirements will be made as a condition of the project approval.
Although there are no trees on the subject property, there aze trees azound the periphery
of the property which could provide suitable nesting habitat for raptors. Therefore, a
condition of the project approval will require that a focused survey for raptor nests shall
be conducted by a qualified biologist should grading be proposed during the raptor-
nesting season (February 1 to August 31). The survey shall be conducted no less than
14 days and no more than 30 days prior to the beginning of grading. If nesting raptors
are found during the focused survey, no grading shall occur within 500 feet of an active
nest until the young have fledged (as determined by a qualified biologist), or until the
project applicant receives written authorization from California Department of Fish and
Game to proceed.
Therefore, these items would be ales-than-significant-impact.
g) There is no adopted Habitat Conservation Plan, Natural Community Conservation Plan or
other approved local, regional or state habitat conservation plan and, thus, this issue is not
applicable to this project. Therefore, this would be no-impact.
5. CULTURAL RESOURCES
Environmental Setting
The subject site is not located in an azea identified as having site-specific archeological,
paleontological, or geologic features or resources. The City of Pleasanton has, however,
experienced development locations where archeological resources have been found in the form
of Native American burial sites.
Standards of Significance
For purposes of this environmental document, an impact is considered significant if the proposed
project would:
Cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical or archeological
resource as defined in the CEQA Guidelines Section 15064.5; or,
Directly or indirectly destroy a unique paleontological resource or site or unique geologic
feature.
16
