(3.7 Points) <br />(1 Point) <br />Permanent flow control valves are installed underneath the sink /faucet and shall <br />restrict the amount of water entering the faucet. <br />Verification: The following shall be required: 1) Final inspection (to verify flow control <br />devices are installed), and 2) include backup documentation of flow <br />rates for each fixture type. Document flow limiters (aerators or other <br />flow restrictor built into the faucet) with manufacturer data showing flow <br />rates of faucets (cut sheets). Permanent flow control valves are <br />independent of faucet model, but must be verified by: <br />Observation under sink for installation of reducer, and <br />Manufacturer information stating flow rate of flow control valve <br />installed. Pre -rinse spray valves need documentation from <br />manufacturer showing flow rate. <br />E.4.a VOCs for non -flat finishes, and 50 gpl or less for flat finishes shall be used. <br />Paints that contain less than 5 gpl of VOCs are classified as zero -VOC. To earn <br />credit for this measure, 90% or more of all interior painted areas must comply with <br />these VOC limits: <br />Low -VOC interior paints <50 gpl VOC:s (flat) and <150 gpl VOCs (non flat)) <br />Zero -VOC interior paints <5 gpl VOCs (flat)) <br />Verification: Provide plan notes on all plans submitted to the Building and Safety <br />Division and documentation of manufacturer data verifying VOC limits. <br />E.7.a /b Environmentally preferable materials include: <br />a. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)— Certified wood and plywood /MDF <br />b. Reclaimed Materials for Nonstructural Applications. <br />c. Rapidly Renewable Trim Materials alternatives to plywood /MDF, such as <br />wheatboard or bamboo. <br />d. Recycled- Content Materials Some recycled- content trim is made from recycled <br />polystyrene or other plastics. Recycled- content countertops include recycled <br />glass tiles, terrazzo -like materials that blend recycled glass and concrete, and <br />natural fiber composites derived from rapidly renewable or recycled resources. <br />e.
