RESOLUTION NO. 2025-042 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />Authorizing ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING FROM THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY's SELECTIVE TRAFFIC <br />ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,000 <br />WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is administering the 2026 <br />Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) that offers grant funds to reimburse law <br />enforcement agencies for overtime expenditures specifically directed towards traffic safety; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has been awarded $60,000 from the OTS STEP grant <br />to conduct Driving Under the Influence saturation patrols, traffic enforcement operations, <br />distracted driving enforcement, motorcycle safety programs, pedestrian and bicycle safety <br />programs, and public education on an overtime basis between October 1, 2025, and September <br />30, 2026; and <br />WHEREAS, best practice strategies will be conducted to reduce the number of persons <br />killed and injured in traffic collisions involving impairment and other primary collision factors; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton procedures require the City Council's approval for all <br />grant applications and funding agreements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1: The submission of the application and acceptance of funds on behalf of the <br />City of Pleasanton is ratified and approved; <br />SECTION 2: Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute all necessary <br />documents required by the OTS STEP grant program. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a <br />regular meeting held on July 15, 2025. <br />I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br />resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 15th day of July 2025, <br />by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Eicher, Gaidos, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Balch <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />6 <br />�r <br />Jocelyn Kwong, City CKerk <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Daniel G.
