Project <br />Description <br />Estimated Cost <br />Additional Park Land <br />Improvements at San Francisco Site <br />(9.5 acres) <br />This project involves design and construction of 9.5 <br />acres of additional community park space on the San <br />Francisco/Bernal Avenue site. Capital improvements <br />could include sports fields; basketball and <br />miscellaneous sports courts; picnic areas; jogging and <br />running trails; and other related amenities. The cost <br />estimate does not include buildings other than rest <br />rooms. The exact type and mix of uses for this site <br />will be determined through a Park Master Plan <br />process, which is managed by staff and the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission. Park development is <br />contingent upon acquisition of parkland from the <br />City and County of San Francisco. <br />$1, 187,500 (PFF) <br />Aquatic Center Community Room <br />This project involves the construction of a facility <br />adjacent to the aquatic center to accommodate <br />various commcmity functions (e.g., meeting, <br />recreational programming and other related <br />activities). <br />$600,000 (PFF) <br />City Hall/Community Center <br />The Facilities Master Plan and the City Council have <br />identified the need for both a City Hall and a <br />Community Center. This project may include a City <br />Hall building, parking structure, City Council <br />Chamber and may require the purchase of additional <br />land to accommodate these facilities. A CIP project <br />has been established for the purpose of creating a <br />reserve for this project. Currently, 6.7 million is in <br />reserve with an additional $4,450,000 projected to be <br />reserved by the end of FY2004 for a total of <br />This project includes the following: <br />Purchase 3 acres of land $1,350,000 <br />Design construction of City Hall <br />Public/employee parking $5,130,000 <br />Council chambers/community space $945,000. <br />Community Center- Design and construction of <br />a 40,000 square foot facility. It will include <br />space for improved programming for a variety of <br />classes and activities for the public.
