Mr. Clark suggested that a closed panel be installed, and
the estimates for each will be in this week.
Mr. Oxsen also stated that Mr. M. Cook, of the Alameda County Health Dept., and Mr.
T. W. Espy, of the San Francisco Water Dept., had called regarding the location of the
house to be built by Mr. Paul Delucchi on his property on Santa Rita Road. Both
parties felt that the location of the proposed building should be changed as the sep-
tic tank would be too close to the City of San Francisco wells, and possible pollution
would result as the wells are not encased. Neither Mr. Cook nor Mr. Espy will permit
any building inside of a 100 Ft. perimeter around the City of San Francisco well site
property boundaries. The Council agreed to this precaution.
Mayor Trimingham asked Mr. Oxsen to notify Mr. John Edgren &.Sons that they would be
placed first on the schedule of purchases of gasoline and oil for the Town of Pleasantwi
starting January 1, 1953
Councilman Abrott reported that Anderson Drilling Co., of San Jose, would start work
on the test well at the Purnp House this week. They have agreed to sink a test well
for $1.25 per foot. In the event that they encounter boulders, the price will be
$2.25 per foot in the strata the boulders are encountered. Mr. Oxsen stated that Mr.
Espy doesn't believe that there will be a great deal of water at this location, due
to their experience some years ago when they sank a well on the Santa Rita Road, 50
feet north of the Western Pacific Railway.
The Council requested Mr. Oxsen to contact Globe Indemnity Insurance Co. to determine
if it would be permissible to weld the crack in the boiler at the City Hall. They
also asked him to secure estimates from Mr. William Clark and Mr. Andresen for the
installation of electric heating at the Jail House, as there is a danger of asphyxi-
ation of the prisoners from the smoking of the present oil burner.
Councilman Abrott requested Mr. Oxsen to contact the County Sanitary Engineer as to
whether it is permissible to construct a sewer line across Arroyo Del Valle or any
other creek. Mr. Johanson, of Manteca, has been sent by Mr. Joe Meyers to check the
land at the Sewer Farm, and his work should be completed by October 24th.
Mayor Trimingham stated that Mr. Jim Murphy, of Riordan Murphy Contractors, had
contacted him regarding sewer and water facilities for a possible subdivision of
200 homes across from Amador High School on Santa Rita Road. He was advised that
the Town of Pleasanton facilities could handle same.
Councilman Cairo reported that he had contacted Mr. Stahlnecker regarding grant of
easement across his property on Amaral Circle to Allen Riedeman Tract. He also
stated that the work on re- inforcement of the Slope Wall is progressing very well.
The concrete foundations have been poured, the two 12" holes have been drilled, but
the fill behind the wall has not been made.
RESOLUTION 2251, granting Deed of Easement across Allen- Riedeman property to Arroyo
Del Valle, was adopted, on motion of Councilman Abrott, seconded by Councilman Cairo.
AYES: Councilmen Abrott, Cairo, Hansen,.liewitson and Trimingham.
CITY HALL: The Council authorized Mr. Oxsen to secure an estimate from Mr. Charles
Peterson, of San Francisco, for an sudit of the Town books. It is believed that the auditing will run in the neighborhood of $350.,
as per Mr. Oxsen's telephone conversation with Mr. Peterson
The matter of some business concerns failing to obtain Business Licenses to operate
in the Town of Pleasanton was brought before the Council by Mr. Oxsen. After some
discussion, the Council agreed fees for Licenses should not b$ collected from those
concerns prior to Jan. 1, 1952, as it was the fault of the City as much as said
