16
Council that the matter was better left as is, with no further explana-
tions necessary.
Fire Chief Amaral stated that he was working on the request of the Ala-
meda County Fair Associatior to place a siren at the Fair Grounds. Per-
mission was giver Mr. Amaral to continue negotiations with the Fair
Association officials.
The meeting was adjourned at 10 P.M.
The City Council met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. on the above date, with Mayor
Trimingham presiding. ROLL CALL showed present: Councilmen Abrott, Cairo, Hansen
and Hewitson.
The minutes of the meeting of November 3rd, 18th, and 20th were read. Corrections
in the minutes of November 18th were noted. Figures given by Councilman Abrott for
cost of construction of an additional reservoir included 12" pipe line from Main
Street to Kottinger Avenue, and the 3,000,000 gallon capacity reservoir figures were
based on locating the reservoir on Mr. Duke Bonde's property. This estimate included
price of pump also. After these corrections, the minutes were approved as read.
Mr. Voerckel, of 246 Vineyard Avenue, and his son and daughter -in -law appeared before
the Council regarding the flooding of silt onto Mr. Voerckel's property during today's
storm. Mr. Voerckel stated that this had happened due to Allen-Riedemants failure
to finish paving the middle section of Manor Drive. After much discussion, it was
decided that Mayor Trimingham, Councilman Cairo and Mr. Oxsen would survey the matter
tomorrow morning to determine the best steps to be taken by the City to prevent future
damage to Mr. Voerckel's property until the paving can be completed.
Mayor Trimingham then called on Mr. Joe Avilla. Mr. Avilla stated that he would
like to know Chief Delucchi's reason for issuing a citation to his wife for going the
wrong way on One Way Division St. when he failed to cite two other parties on the
same day. Mr. Delucchi stated that he had issued citations to every one violating
that ordinance on the specific day Mr. Avilla mentioned. Mr. Avilla refused to give
the names of the two previously mentioned parties before the Council; therefore, it
was suggested by Mayor Trimingham that he meet with Councilman Hewitson tomorrow to
discuss the matter further. Mr. Avilla also requested the Council to have a car
removed in front of his home on Vineyard Avenue, as the car has been parked at that
location for several months.
CLAIMS No. 219 to 262 were presented to the Finance Committee.
Claim No.
219 Manuel W.
