Stanley Boulevard. Pleasanton
Dear Mr. DiDonato:
This report presents the results or a noise and vibration assessment study for the planned
single-family developmerI along Stanley. in Pleasanton, as shown on the S'te Plan. Ref.
(a). The noise exposures at the site v,vere evaluated aganst the standards of the City of
Pleasanton General Plan Noise Element- Ref (b). he railroad induced ground vibration
levels were evaluated against guidelines established by the Federal Transit Administration
(Fl A). Ref. (c). An analysis of he on-site noise measurements indicates that the noise
environment is created primarily by traffic sources on Stanley Boulevard and railroad
operations on the adjacent Union Pacific Railroad/Altamont Commuter Iispress line. The
results of the study Ieveal that noise exposure and noise level excesses occur and
mitigation measures evil be required. The study also revealed that ground-borne
vibration levels within the planned structures will exceed the criteria established by the
FTA.
Sections I and II of this report contain a summary of our findings and recommendations.
respectively.
