Section 3. No Discrimination There shall be no discrimination because of race, creed, color, ancestry, national origin, sex, age or legitimate employee organization activities aganist any employee or applicant for employment by the Union or by the City or by anyone employed by the City; and to the extent pro- hibited by applicable state and federal law, there shall be no discrimination because of age. • Section 4 . Union Representatives City employees who are official representatives of the Union shall be given reasonable time off with pay to attend meetings with management representatives, or to be present at hearings where matters within the scope of represen- tation are being considered. The use of official time for this purpose shall be reasonable and shall not inter- fere with the performance of City services as determined by the City. Such employee representatives shall submit written requests for excused absences to the Fire Chief, with an information copy to the Personnel Officer, at least two (2) calendar days prior to the scheduled meeting whenever possible. No more than two (2) employees shall be excused for such purposes. The Union shall submit a list of the officers of the Union to the City Manager and notify the City Manager in writing at such time there are any changes in such Union officers. Section 5. Salaries 5.1 Rates of Pay The salary ranges for all employees in the Fire Employees Union as set forth below represent, for each classification, the standard rate of pay for full-time employment and represent the total compensation due employees, except for overtime compensation and other benefits specifically provided' by the City.
