burnswuacrd'fAu- tVilliCZDIAL
Subject FW: East Pleasanton Specific Plan Provided to the City Council
After Distribution of Packet
From: Wendy Costanza
Date I7 I-
Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 5:10 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Cc: Shweta Bonn
Subject: East Pleasanton Specific Plan
Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I understand that at your upcoming meeting on May 19th, you will consider stopping the planning process for
the East Pleasanton Specific Plan due to the current drought situation in California. I respectfully request
that you reconsider your position.
I believe that stopping planning due to the drought is an irresponsible waste of community resources
and it interferes with the community planning process.
Numerous residents on the Task Force have spent three years considering planning parameters/constraints and
gathering public input to put together a plan that offers numerous community amenities and infrastructure
improvements. To ignore these efforts and stop the process now is completely disrespectful of the task force and
community members who have spent so many hours working together, and it shows a complete lack of respect
for the community planning process in general.
I recognize that the drought is a serious concern for the City of Pleasanton, however the drought should NOT be
used as a reason to stop planning for the future of our community. The City should instead take the opportunity
itiplan this area to include water conservation techniques and practices while we have a solid, viable plan in
ace.
I support the proposed plan, which offers both a long term build-out of homes and provides many benefits to the
city. I believe that having a solid plan in place and executing it with sensitivity to current and future water needs
is the responsible thing to do.
Please vote to continue the planning for the East Pleasanton Specific Plan.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Wendy Webber-Costanzo
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
