Maria Hoey
® From: Tricia Baxter
Sent: Tuesday, August 25, 2015 7:23 PM
To: Maria Hoey
Cc: Adam Weinstein
Subject Subject: No More Traffic thru Ventana Hills Neighborhood for Lund Ranch II
Dear Planning Commission:
Please help keep our Ventana Hills and Mission Hills neighbors safe!
My family lives on Junipero Street directly across from Mission Hills Park. I am a Civil Engineer, and I cannot in
my wildest imagination understand why the City of Pleasanton would even consider forcing residents who live
on Junipero Street to put up with even more traffic on their already dangerous street. This does not make any
sense from any logical, safety, technical, engineering, or other legitimate reason. Any decision to re-route
Lund Ranch II vehicles from Sycamore Creek Way to Junipero St. would be in direct conflict to all promises the
City made to the Ventana Hills and Mission Hills residents over the past 25+years!
Mission Hills Park is located on Junipero St and Independence Dr. Mission Hills Park is used by hundred of
families year around and many, many childrens' sports practices 9 months out of the year.Junipero St. also
includes a blind corner, an "5" curve, and many, many vehicles parked up and down each side of the street
adjacent to Mission Hills Park. All these things contribute to the existing unsafe conditions of Junipero
St. Sycamore Creek Way in the Bridle Creek neighborhood does not have any of these safety challenges.
*Just because an accident has not occurred on Junipero St. or Independence Dr. adiacent to Mission Hills Park
DOES NOT MEAN THE PARK IS SAFE FROM A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.
My husband, 2 children, and I live on the "S" curve of Junipero St. between Mission Drive and Hopkins Way,
and every morning when I take my kids to school or go to work, I have to wait for multiple cars to pass my
house before being able to back out. Junipero Street has become a cut-through road between lam and 9am
and 2:30 and 8:00 pm every weekday. My car is almost hit on a regular basis by the speeding cut-through
vehicles travelling between Bernal Ave and Sunol Blvd.
