(Looking East)
(Also note the many, many parents and children gathered behind the light pole)
Four out of five afternoons a week, cars are parked up and down each side of Junipero Street between
Mission Drive and the Independence St. stop sign while their children practice Soccer,T-Ball, and Baseball at
Mission Hills Park. These cars are arriving, parking, and leaving between 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm, four(4) nights
per week, nine (9) months out of the year. This creates an extremely unsafe condition for children (ages 5-15)
and parents entering and exiting cars and crossing the street during the afternoon commute hours. These
small children often run across the street without looking, and it is a miracle that there has not been an
accident already. Once again, just because there has not been a traffic related accident adjacent to Mission do
Hills Park does not make the park safe. With the I"S'I curve and the cars parked up and down both sides of the
street, there is not adequate sight distance for the existing vehicles to safely travel past Mission Hills
Park. There is barely enough room for a car in each direction. Junipero St. can definitely not handle any newly
added vehicles to the existing dangerous travel way.
`°i ,
P . q•': .. i i 4-■
•_L a [n< ; r P
L t T
4 I
S J 1 Y A t
i
J°
. s ha , i
, r t ..•.
.
2
