ATTACHMENT 2: PUBLIC COMMENTS
From: ]
Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 2:55 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: Downtown development
Dear City Council:
As a resident of Pleasanton, I just want to express my concern regarding the
proliferation of three-level residential units that are being constructed in
the downtown area. The attractiveness of the downtown area is due to its
retail and restaurant environment; that attractiveness is being diminished by
three level residential units with no backyards being squeezed into small
lots.
It appears that the council may be considering development of additional high
density residential units in the downtown area, for example on the Barone
property. I wish to express my opposition to such additional development. Do
we wish to look like East Dublin?
In addition, the traffic through the one lane in each direction Main Street
is getting difficult already. Downtown Pleasanton will lose his
attractiveness if we turn it into East Dublin.
Robert Gonella
22
