The County Library will
consult with the City on how the City will implement its new
library cards and bar codes for patrons.

The City will be responsible for maintaining its new patron
records in the III system.

The City will provide the County with its decisions about
vadous circulation policies which are required to set up the
circulation system's capability to give Pleasanton the options
desired for its own policies, separate and distinct from the
County Library's policies. The County has provided the City
with information in wdting about the policy decisions that the
City nccds to make in order to establish its own unique
policies. The City will provide the County with its decisions on
these policies no later than Apdl 12, 1999 in order to allow the
County adequate time to set up the information in the
automation system so that the City's policies may be in effect
effective July 1, 1999. If the City requests more frequent changes
in its circulation policies, the City and County will meet to
determine an additional cost for this service. Such policies
include but are not limited to patron-types, item-types, fines
and fees, circulation limits, hold limits, schedule for overdue
notices, etc.

The County Library will provide a telephone notification system
(TNS) which uniquely identifies the Pleasanton Library as the
location where materials are overdue or on hold for patrons.

The City will purchase and install a printer at the Pleasanton
Library to be attached to the County's III system for printing
bills and notices to patrons, which cannot be delivered by
TNS.
