specifications for the printer and cabling to the City and will connect the printer to the County's III system. The County will maintain the software license and maintenance fee and equipment maintenance fee for the self- checkout machines at the Pleasanton Library. An online public access catalog (OPAC) for the City's library collection and access to the OPAC for the County Library's collection which will be provided through scoping 1. This will include both text and webpac formats. This will include automated staff and patron-initiated holds on the Pleasanton Library collection. This will not include automated staff and patron-initiated holds on the County Library collection unless a separate contract for enhanced inter-library loan services is agreed to by the County and City. This will not include the debit card operated pdnters attached to the OPAC workstations, which are part of the County's contract with IKON. The County will remove all IKON equipment at the Pleasanton Library from its IKON contract effective June 30, 1999. The City may enter into an independent contract with IKON or another qualified vendor for such printers or may provide its own printers. The City will assume all responsibility for interfacing such equipment with the County's III system. OPAC database maintenance The County will share its database of bibliographic (title) records and item records with the City for the duration of this contract agreement including its standard authority control. The County places a very high value on the integnty of the bibliographic database, its accuracy and quality. It is a primary concern of the County that the database be maintained with no degradation in its accuracy or quality. All bibliographic records added must confon-n to minimum standards defined by the County Library's Technical Services Division.
