SECTION 30 <br /> <br />REMOVE AND REPLACE EXISTING SANITARY SEWER <br /> <br />30-1 Scope: The work covered by this section covers the removal of <br /> approximately 10 feet of an existing 24 inch vitrified clay~s~nitary <br /> sewer and replacing with ductile iron pipe. <br /> <br /> The exact extent of the work will be determined in the field by the City <br /> as the existing pipe is exposed. <br /> <br />30-02 Materials: Ductile Iron Pipe shall conform to the requirements of AWWA <br /> C151 and shall be Thickness Class 52 with plain ends. <br /> <br /> Connections to the VCP shall be with a Dresser type coupling ~atis- <br /> factory to the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />30-03 <br /> <br />30-04 <br /> <br />Construction: This work shall be carefully coordinated with the City of <br />Pleasanton and no work started without sufficient advance notice to the <br />City. Trench backfill shall be in accordance with Section 13 of the <br />Standard Specifications of the City of Pleasanton. Particular care in <br />the selection and placing of the bedding will be required. <br /> <br />Maximum Shutdown time allowed by the City is 4 hours. ShutdoWn will not <br />be allowed between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The ductile iron pipe shall be one continuous length. <br /> <br />Measurement and Payment. This work will be paid for at the contract <br />lump sum price for Remove and Replace Sanitary Sewer Pipe and payment <br />shall include full compensation for all labor, materials, and <br />incidentals including excavation, backfill, coordination with the City <br />and any special requirements necessary to handle the flows in the <br />existing sewer. <br /> <br />CDS.1.19 30-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
