Ms. Amos
informed him that the two story homes that are out there were developed before Cameron Circle.
Initially Cameron Circle was approved by the City Council for two-story homes, but Ponderosa
then came back with a new application for only single -story homes. The City did not restrict
Ponderosa to single -story homes. Commissioner Brown asked if the Cameron Circle homes
would be stopped from adding a second story to their homes and Ms. Amos informed him that
the PUD does stipulate that those homes can only be single story but an applicant could apply
for a PUD modification to this rule.
Commissioner Nibert referenced some letters of opposition that stated that the neighbors and
City blocked the building of two-story homes and Ms. Amos informed him that that was incorrect
information and the City did not block the building of two story homes in this area and the
applicant chose to void their original approval for two story homes and apply for single story
homes. Commissioner Nibert referenced another email stating that the setbacks requirements
are not being met by this new project. Ms. Amos stated that Cameron Circle lots are a bit smaller
than the surrounding areas and explained why the setbacks are as they are for the project.
Commissioner Nibert asked for clarification and Ms. Amos provided that clarification.
Commissioner Brown asked how close the house on the corner lot is to either of the proposed
houses. Ms. Amos informed him that on one side the closest point would be 80 feet and on the
other side it was a bit closer but she did not have the exact measurement. Commissioner Brown
asked if the corner property was built by Ponderosa and Ms. Amos said no.
Commissioner Allen asked if there were line of site visuals from the house on the corner and
how the new properties might impact that. Ms. Amos stated that there is no line of site but there
are a lot of trees in between the property and the applicant has proposed planting more trees.
THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED
The Applicant, Ramprasad Srirama, as well as Terry Townsend, the Architect, provided a
presentation on the item.
Krishna Yalamanchi provided comments on Item 6 and shared his support for the project.
Akash Jayanthilal provided comments on Item 6 and shared his support for the project.
Excerpt: Draft Planning Commission Minutes, January 12, 2022
Page 1 of 2
