<br />1.74 "Multi-Family" means any Residential complex, other than a Single-Family Premises, used for 392
<br />Residential purposes, which has centralized Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials Collection 393
<br />service for all Residential units in the building and may be billed as one address. 394
<br />1.75 "Nonputrescible Waste" means Solid Waste which is not subject to decomposition by 395
<br />microorganisms. 396
<br />1.76 "Occupant" means and includes every tenant or Person who is in possession of, is the inhabitant 397
<br />of, or has the care and control of, an inhabited Single-Family Premises, Multi-Family Premises, or 398
<br />Commercial Premises. 399
<br />1.77 "Organic Materials" or “Organics” means any combination of Food Scraps and Yard Trimmings, 400
<br />Compostable Plastics (if applicable), and Clean Wood. Organic Materials is a subset of Organic 401
<br />Waste. 402
<br />1.78 “Organic Materials Processing Site” means any plant, facility, or site used for the Processing and 403
<br />Composting of Organic Materials for the purpose of making Compost, mulch, or other 404
<br />marketable material. 405
<br />1.79 “Organic Waste” means wastes containing material originated from living organisms and their 406
<br />metabolic waste products including, but not limited to, food, Yard Trimmings, organic textiles and 407
<br />carpets, lumber, wood, paper products, printing and writing paper, manure, biosolids, digestate, 408
<br />and sludges, or as otherwise defined in 14 CCR Section 18982(a)(46). Biosolids and digestate are 409
<br />as defined in 14 CCR Section 18982(a)(4) and 14 CCR Section 18982(a)(16.5), respectively. 410
<br />1.80 "Owner" means the Person holding legal title to the land or building. 411
<br />1.81 "Party or Parties" means the City and Contractor, individually or together. 412
<br />1.82 "Person" means an individual, firm, limited liability company, association, partnership, political 413
<br />subdivision, government agency, municipality, industry, public or private corporation, or any 414
<br />other entity whatsoever. 415
<br />1.83 "Premises" means any land or building in the City where Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, or 416
<br />Organic Materials are generated or accumulated. 417
<br />1.84 "Processing or Process (or any variation thereof)" means to prepare, treat, or convert through 418
<br />some special method, including, but not limited to, baling, crushing, shredding, chipping, 419
<br />grinding, extracting, mechanical or hand classification and any other method of handling 420
<br />Recyclable Materials, Organic Materials, and C&D by the Contractor at the Approved Facility(ies). 421
<br />1.85 "Processing Site" means any plant or site used for the purpose of sorting, cleansing, treating, or 422
<br />reconstituting Salvageable Material for the purpose of making such material available for reuse. 423
