Nicole Rodriguez
From: Ellen Holmgren
Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2023 8:45 AM
To: Roderick O'Brien; Mayor and City Council
Cc: Pleasanton City Clerk; Pamela Ott; Ellen Clark; Melinda Denis; Megan Campbell; Shweta
Bonn; Becky Hopkins
Subject: RE: Housing Element Adoption (6th Cycle)
Dear Roderick O'Brien,
Thank you for your email regarding Item 2 on the Special Meeting Notice and Agenda for Thursday, Jan. 26,
2023.
This email acknowledges receipt of your email to the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager, and City staff.
Thank you for your interest in the City of Pleasanton.
Regards,
Ellen Holmgren, Administrative Assistant
City of Pleasanton
From: Roderick O'Brien
Sent:Tuesday,January 24, 2023 8:01 PM
To: Mayor and City Council<citycouncil@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject: Housing Element Adoption (6th Cycle)
You don't often get email fron earn why this is important
Hello:
With regards to the 6th Cycle Housing Element Update. I would ask that before adopting any amendment to the
General Plan to update the Housing Element, that the City reconsider its restrictive density limits imposed on the PUSD
proposed properties. These should be approved at 8-20 dwelling units/acre for the District Office, and 3-5 dwelling
units/acre on the Vineyard Site -as requested by the PUSD. Anything else is just asking for the school district to use
AB2295 to bypass city zoning requirements.
The responsibility for local control is ours. But the City should be flexible and broadminded in its consideration for
housing development-one of the greatest problems we face as a city and state.
Sincerely, Rod
Roderick O'Brien
EVC member(speaking out as a Pleasanton business owner and resident)
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
