Transportation & Streets CIP Projects
Transportation & Streets CIP is the City’s most active capital project category. The Street
Resurfacing project was completed where 1 million square feet of existing pavement was
overlayed and 0.92 million square feet of existing pavement was slurry sealed. Notably, a test
section of Stoneridge Mall Road was repaired with Superpave which is recommended by the
Federal Highway Administration and Caltrans as the new pavement mix design to be utilized
throughout the country and state, allowing for review and analysis before a broader
distribution is required. The 2022 Curb and Gutter for Street project was completed where
damaged concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk were replaced, and pedestrian ramps were
installed or reconstructed in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act as identified in
the 2022 Street Maintenance Program. The 2023 Curb and Gutter For Street project began
and is expected to be completed in FY 2023/24. The design was started for the W. Las
Positas Blvd Mutlimodal Reconstruction project that will reconstruct portions of the roadway to
address the settling and cracking of the roadway, curb and sidewalk. Construction
commenced for the Annual Bicycle And Pedestrian project that will install bicycle and
pedestrian related improvements, as identified by the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.

As mentioned in the Discussion section, due to insufficient revenues being collected in the
Traffic Impact Fee Fund, some of the project expenditure budgets were reduced or removed
altogether; these affected projects are Nevada Street Improvements, Santa Rita Fiber
Interconnect, and Santa Rita Intersection Improvements.

Table 7 summarizes the full list of Transportation and Streets CIP projects with actual
expenditures to the amended budget for FY 2022/23, along with recommended carryforwards.
