The Hacienda Owners’ Association is responsible (via reimbursement to the City) for
the annual routine maintenance costs of 29 of the 120 total signals ($45,327 for FY 2023/24)
and any additional emergency work completed for those signals. Caltrans is responsible for
half of the annual cost of routine maintenance at intersection signals at freeway ramps ($9,378
for FY 2023/24) and half the cost of any emergency work performed at those signals. Damage
recovery through third-party insurance coverage varies significantly from year to year, with
recent annual recovery amounts ranging from approximately $15,000 to $40,000.

Prepared by: Submitted by: Approved by:

Cedric Novenario, Senior
Transportation Engineer
Ellen Clark, Director of Community
Development

Gerry Beaudin, City
Manager

Attachments:
1.
