City of Pleasanton
475 and 493 St. John Street Mixed-Use Project

34
Tribal Cultural Resources
Rincon Consultants sent a Sacred Lands File (SLF) search request to the Native American Heritage
Commission. On August 27, 2023, the Native American Heritage Commission responded that the
results of the search were negative (Appendix C). As described above, the City of Pleasanton did not
receive requests for AB 52 consultation during preparation of the Final EIR. Pursuant to Public
Resources Code Section 21808.3.1, the lead agency of a project must begin Native American
Consultation prior to the release of a negative declaration, mitigated negative declaration, or
environmental impact report for a project. Because this project is analyzed as an addendum to the
DSP Final EIR, AB 52 consultation for this project is not required.
Effects and Mitigation Measures
Historical Resources
No new or substantially more severe significant effects would occur to historical resources
compared to those identified in the Final EIR, and no new mitigation measures are necessary.
Archaeological and Tribal Cultural Resources
No new or substantially more severe significant effects would occur to archaeological resources or
tribal cultural resources compared to those identified in the Final EIR, and no mitigation measures
are necessary. The recommendations included in the ARA (Appendix C), listed under Impacts of the
Barone’s Project above, would be implemented as part of the project as conditions of approval
pursuant to Program 5.2 of the City’s General Plan.
Paleontological Resources
No new or substantially more severe significant effects would occur to paleontological resources
compared to those identified in the Final EIR, and no new mitigation measures are necessary.
Implementation Plan HP-I.7 of the DSP would remain applicable.
Human Remains
No new or substantially more severe significant effects would occur to human remains compared to
those identified in the Final EIR, and no new mitigation measures are necessary.
Conclusion
Historical Resources
Impacts would be less than significant, similar to the Final EIR, and no significant new or
substantially increased historical resources impacts would occur compared to those identified in the
Final EIR.
Archaeological and Tribal Cultural Resources
Impacts would be less than significant, similar to the Final EIR, and no significant new or
substantially increased archaeological or tribal cultural resources impacts would occur compared to
those identified in the Final EIR.
