DPR 523L (Rev. 1/1995)(Word 9/2013)
State of California Natural Resources Agency Primary#
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION HRI #
Trinomial
CONTINUATION SHEET
Property Name: 475 St. John Street
NRHP or CRHR under Criterion C/3.

Criterion D/4 – Information Potential
Archival research provided no indication that the subject property has the potential to yield information
important to the prehistory or history of the local area, California, or the nation. The subject property does
not appear eligible for listing on the NRHP or CRHR under Criterion D/4.

Integrity
The property at 475 St. John Street retains integrity of location since it has not been moved. The property
does not retain its integrity of association and feeling since it has not been used as a single-family house
since at least the 1970s. The building has received multiple additions and alterations over time and its
original form and massing is no longer evident. The building does not retain its scale and does not
illustrate the original late 19th century vernacular architecture. The property does not retain sufficient
integrity of design, materials, and workmanship. Finally, the integrity of setting has been significantly
compromised by the construction of the adjacent hotel to the east and the residential development to the
west. Overall, the property at 475 St. John Street does not retain sufficient integrity to communicate its
significance under Criterion A/1 for its defined period of significance.

In conclusion, the subject property at 475 St. John Street in Pleasanton does not appear individually
eligible for the NRHP or CRHR as it was not found to possess sufficient integrity under criterion A/1 for
its period of significance.

*B12.
