Table 4 – Water CIP Projects

In FY 2023/24, the City initiated urgent near-term water system improvements to support City
Council direction to shutdown its wells due to a detectable level of PFAS and to procure water
directly from Zone 7. In June 2024, the City secured a $19.0 million water revenue bond to
fund three major water line projects on Bernal Avenue, Stoneridge Drive, and Sunol
Boulevard. Remaining funding of $9.1 million needs to be carried forward to continue these
projects.

The Annual Water Distribution System Improvements project also completed critical updates,
installing seismic piping at key culvert crossings within Hacienda business park and
addressing a leak at the Kilkare Canyon bridge crossing. Temporary repairs were made to
Turnout #1, and a rental booster pump was installed at Turnout #4 to maintain adequate water
supply during summer months.

The Water System Management Plan (WSMP) is completed and will provide a comprehensive
guide for water supply management, quality standards, distribution capacity, and infrastructure
upgrades; thew final plan is being presented for City Council acceptance in November 2024.
Additionally, planned water system improvements will be incorporated into the West Las
Positas Multimodal Reconstruction project which is currently in design.

Parks CIP Projects
