address scope changes related to the discovery of undocumented underground utilities and
other unforeseen conditions, requiring the revision of the mainline alignment on Sunol
Boulevard. These changes necessitate additional engineering support during construction and
the re-staking of the new mainline alignment.

On November 19, 2024, the City Council authorized the City Manager or their delegate(s) to
enter into a purchase order with SHAPE Incorporated for the Turnout 4 pre-packaged booster
pump station. The design of the pre-packaged booster pump station is currently in progress
and will be submitted for review and approval in March 2025.

Since Woodard & Curran, Inc. is the project designer for all the turnout components and
provided the design parameters and schematic layouts of the booster pump stations, its review
of the pre-packaged booster pump station’s design submittals is essential. This review will
ensure the final design of the booster pump station is compatible with all the new and existing
turnout components including power, instrumentation, electrical services, lighting, controllers,
sump pumps and automated valves.

The proposed second amendment to the agreement (Attachment 1) is for a not-to-exceed
amount of $60,000, for a new total of $836,365 with a new term date of June 30, 2026.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Staff followed the City's Procurement Policy for purchasing procedures and previous City
Council-approved provisions as these types of projects are routine matters of City business.

OUTREACH
Outreach was conducted via mail and social media at the start of construction for this project
and continues to be updated to provide construction impacts as needed through social media
and website postings.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
Approval of this action advances the ONE Pleasanton strategic plan goal of Investing in Our
Environment, Strategy 1 – Implement the Four-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to
complete the design and construction of budgeted capital projects and Strategy 3 – Identifying
funding and implement the recommendations from the Water Supply Alternative Study to
resolve PFAS water quality issues.

FISCAL IMPACT
The anticipated total expenditure for this contract is $836,365, increasing the anticipated total
expenditure of the Near-Term Water Improvements Project, CIP No. 24171, to $10,701,025.
This increase includes additional construction support, survey, and design review services. A
reimbursement resolution was approved by the City Council on March 5, 2024, that allowed for
the expenditures associated with this project to be reimbursed at a later date once the bond
proceeds are available.
