the Firehouse Arts Center, in collaboration with Museum on Main and Pleasanton Cultural
Arts Council.
b. The "service gap" might only be that any activities that helps assure that we protect the
library we have, and that allows us to add new compositions to that library, assures that
PCCB can continue to bring more and better performances to our community, to provide
optimal musical programing for civic events, and to generally enrich music experiences for
both audiences and our band members.
How this relates to the Cultural Plan; As stated above: It all contributes to PCCB's ability to
provide the best programing to our Pleasanton and Tri-Valley communities.
Describe your agency and provide its mission or purpose statement.
The charter of the Pleasanton Community Concert Bands states our mission as:
1. To give public performances of concert band music to encourage interest in music and
cultural activities in the local area
2. To provide an outlet for musical performance for local residents
3. To provide an opportunity for developing the talents of participating members
4. To provide an educational opportunity for appreciation of concert band music by the
general public
5. To support the performing arts and the community generally by performance in,
promotion of, and participation in community events
Please describe how you plan to market this project.
This specific project will not involve any marketing other than to acknowledge our donors
and the City in support of this project.
Explain how this project will be implemented and include a brief timeline for
implementation.
With over 45 tears of successful non-profit existence, and with members who have diverse
skill sets, PCCB's Board and volunteers have more than enough expertise to manage this
project.
Two years ago PCCB received a Pleasanton City Grant to cover the cost of a container to
store our equipment which had been stored in rental units costing PCCB over $4000 per
year. Thank you.
With that experience, we know exactly what the best path is for procuring a container at a
competitive price, and to arrange for the transport and positioning of the container. We will
update our insurance policy to assure that all of our library is insured in its new location. We
have preliminarily arranged to have the container located at a local business park at close
to zero cost.
Identify the organization(s) that your agency will partner with on this project.
