However, it has
proven difficult to for them to get any timely responses from insurance companies (for
vehicle or umbrella). They are down south, near the fires, and it sounds like most insurance
resources are focused on fire recovery. We need to give them the green light very soon or
we won’t ‘t have time to obtain the counts we need. We have to count on Tuesday or
Thursdays during school with no rain. We then need time to verify the counts and then
recount any that are off. So, it can be difficult/impossible if we give them too narrow of a
window. Is it possible to make an exception in this case?

I can still ask that they obtain the insurance, just don’t know when they will be able to get it
approved. It would be better if we can just approve the contract with the one million now so
we can get on their schedule for counts. Last year we were already counting some
intersections by now. I worry any further delay will mean we won’t be able to get the counts
we need to update our traffic model.

Thanks,

-Mark

From: Wes Cheung <wcheung@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2025 3:16 PM
To: Mark Candland <MCandland@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
Subject: RE: AimTD LLC

Hey Mark,

Thanks for sending over the docs. You are correct in that our contract asks for $2M in their
coverage only provides $1M.

Generally, we ask for coverage limits based on the risk associated with the activity, usually
described in the Scope of Work. For example, if a contractor is required to meet in person with
City staff and has to drive to a location, we’d only ask for $1M.

Based on the Scope of Work for this contract, it seems that the amount of risk is greater than
simply commuting to a location. For that reason, I’d ask that AimTD provide proof of coverage
of an additional $1M in auto liability coverage for a total of $2M as it states in the contract. That
way, the City is protected from the increased automobile exposure associated with this Scope
Docusign Envelope ID: DB1047F1-C907-4C36-BCCB-D3C5B1A78E77
