Please note that the total potential reduction number is a rounded estimate and will
be refined in the final budget, based on City Council direction. It is possible to
reduce support by a different amount, if desired, or to fund only a subset of the grant
requests.
With respect to the other Tri -Valley Cities, Pleasanton has routinely allocated
significantly more General Fund dollars to human services organizations than
Dublin and Livermore. Past years' General Fund contributions for Livermore and
Dublin have been approximately $80-100k, although have varied, and will again
differ for the upcoming 2 -year grant cycle. Funding decisions by the Cities of Dublin
and Livermore appear to have been made as a policy/budget decision by the
respective City Councils, rather than using a specific formula or methodology.
Pleasanton has generally used an inflator that increases the amount of the General
Fund grant funding by the overall increase to the General Fund budget.
Staff also notes, in recent years, both Dublin and Livermore have used local sources
other than General Fund to supplement their federal HOME and CDBG allocations,
including in Dublin, ARPA funds (which will no longer be available after the next
Fiscal Year), and in Livermore the "Social Opportunity Endowment" (SOE), which is a
Local fund supported by one-time community benefit contributions negotiated as
