QyNSA iyToG City Council Regular Meeting -
Submit your written public
comment
OPL'NNED QV City of Pleasanton
Full Name First Name: JULIE
Last Name: ELFIN
Email (this entry is disclosable elfinaction25@gmail.com
if included)
Submitted On:
Apr 7, 2025, 10:17AM PDT
City Council Meeting Date April 08, 2025 05:00 PM
Meeting Type Special Meeting at 5:00 pm
Agenda Item Number 21
Comments As a Pleasanton resident, I'm writing with deep concern about the
proposed budget cuts that would freeze the already -vacant
Sustainability Manager position and, in turn, pause implementation
of our Climate Action Plan 2.0 and halt the Energy and Environment
Commission.
This move—while saving no additional money—would significantly
undermine our city's progress on climate and environmental goals.
These efforts are not optional. They are critical for the future of
Pleasanton and must remain a priority, especially at a time when
climate resilience and sustainability are more urgent than ever.
Please do not pause or defund the Climate Action Plan or the Energy
and Environment Commission. I urge you to find a better path
forward that does not sacrifice the long-term well-being of our
community for short-term convenience.
Residents can and will step up to help where needed. V1b simply ask
that you don't walk away from this vital work.
