It reduces the anxiety that can come from learning
to read by offering a relaxed, non -judgmental audience, which in turn
boosts reader confidence. The proven benefits of reading to animals
include increased reading fluency and improved attitudes about
reading aloud. I am writing to express my strong opposition to
closing the library 2 days a week and reducing library collections by
50%.
As the most used City facility in Pleasanton, the library is an
essential resource for many children and people. Reducing library
access means limiting opportunities for students, job seekers,
families, workers, and community members who depend on its
resources. I urge you to stand with residents and protect the
Pleasanton Library by maintaining its current hours of operation and
collections.
Sincerely, Tammy Rieser-Valley Humane Canine Comfort - Paws to
Read Volunteer
